Bahamas Philadelphia Foundation Mission Statement
The Bahamas Philadelphia Foundation aims to cultivate a vibrant and supportive community of Bahamians living in the Philadelphia area, serving as proud ambassadors of Bahamian culture. Our mission is to celebrate and preserve the rich values, traditions, and pride of The Bahamas, offering an authentic and dynamic reflection of our cultural heritage on a global stage.
We are dedicated to fostering a thriving ecosystem where our diverse community—including entrepreneurs, bankers, CPAs, creatives, engineers, realtors, educators, students, and so much more —can connect, collaborate, and support one another. By leveraging our collective resources, we strive to establish ourselves as a trusted and influential network within the broader society.
As we grow, we remain committed to strengthening the roots of our ancestral heritage. We will continue to honor our national identity through annual events, such as the Independence Day flag-raising ceremony in Philadelphia on July 10th, followed by cultural celebrations. We also aim to introduce our beloved Junkanoo tradition to the Philadelphia Parkway during the Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, sharing the infectious joy of Bahamian music and culture with the wider Philadelphia community. Through these efforts, we seek to solidify our presence in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania while maintaining our deep connection to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
